Storm win in a thriller...

Or, at least, a thrilling final 20 minutes.

Truthfully, most of the game was fairly flat. It was only when Greg Inglis levelled the scores with 10 minutes or so to go that things started getting interesting.

With a minute and a half to go and scores still 16 a piece, I think we'd all accepted the fact that this was going to go to Golden Point.

'Golden Point' involves 10 minutes (two x 5 minute halves) of extra time during which each team try their damnedest to score anyway they possibly can - Field goal, try or penalty goal.

Game Time: 80 minutes.
Score: 16 - 16.
Oh no: Golden Point time
At this point I think it's fair to say we were all a little more then concerned.
Can any of the Storm players even kick a field goal?
After eight and a half minutes of extra time and FIVE MISSED attempts at field goal (three from Cooper Cronk, one from Stevie Turner and one from Cameron Smith) we figured the answer to that all-important question was a resounding - NOOOO!
However, Storm's little No.7 - Cooper Cronk - landed one on his forth attempt and, with very little time left on the clock Storm scraped home by a point.
Umm, Coach Bellamy?
Mate, can I suggest mandatory field goal practice for the ENTIRE team every training session?
Perhaps you make it that they don't get to go home until they kick at least five each from at least 40 metres out?
Sound reasonable?
As a supporter, I certainly think so.
The 17-16 win has placed us in equal first position with the Broncos. Broncos are just ahead of us on points difference.
