3 babies, 2 Games & a Sook...

Wow, two home games in Melbourne and I haven't really written about either.

The three boys - Beckham, Campbell and Ryan - have been to both games. They are such good boys. Take for example this week. Beckham slept for most of the game... Ryan slept for most of the game, in my arms I might add! No competition this week ;) ... and Campbell, although he didn't sleep much, was quiet as a mouse. I can't wait until this time next year because I am sure the three of them will keep their parents on their toes. I can just imagine the three of the tottering around.

Unfortunately, I didn't take many photos - only six. Three blurry ones of Lisa and Ryan - use the flash Katy! - one not so blurry photo of Lisa and Ryan, one of the back of Beckham's head and half of Gina and a nice one of Trent and Campbell's eye. I think I need to spend more time on composing the shots, 'eh.

For only the second time (I think) in the past few years, we didn't go back to the social club after the game. It was held in the stuffy dark room at the back of the Tennis Centre and, to be honest, what's the point of going back these days? The main reason we went each week is no longer in Melbourne so we decided to go to Vihn Vihn in Victoria St, Richmond, for dinner instead. It ended up being quite the party. I think the idea was to have a semi early night because of the babies. However, I'm not sure about the others but by the time I got home it was 1am. Not so much with the early. It was a great night so it is all good.

Emma and I have been helping The Club (aka: Melbourne Storm) before the games with handing out membership packages and caps. I used to help out a bit in the early years of Storm. True, way back then it was more in association with the Melbourne Storm Supporters Club (MSSC) and the Banner Crew rather then the club itself. It was something that I, for the most part, enjoyed a great deal and have missed over the last couple of years. As far as the MSSC went, once it became the Melbourne Storm Supporters 'Clic' my desire to be associated with that went by the wayside. The banner got to be a bit much a couple of years back, especially having done it since it was introduced in '99 by Scott, so I stopped helping out with that also. Emma and I do still make a point of helping out with at least one banner every year but that seems to be enough.

Being involved with the club on that level again was terrific. It wasn't the most thrilling job - but I feel I made the most of it and had a bit of fun doing it. The only down side was I had to change my name to 'Amy'. In the Storm newsletter they put a 'Thank You' note in for us volunteers. Somehow my name became "Amy Lighten". I know that a lot of people have trouble with the name 'K A T Y' but, geesh, how do you get to 'A M Y'? Oh well, it's the thought that counts - and the tee-shirt.

I certainly haven't written much about last week's game. The game itself, against the Knights was great. Storm ended up on the damn good side of the 52-6 scoreline. Mum and Dad came along and it was great to have them there - even if Mum came mainly to see the babies and Dad came mainly because Mum was going. I think they enjoyed the game.

It was all going good until the Storm Boys did their victory lap. The boys walked around the track just like they always do. But it wasn't like it always was. It was extremely embarrassing at the time, and possibly even more so now, but I admit I got a little chocked up over it. And yes, there may have even been inking involved - Man, how embarrassment! What can I say except I'm a dumbass sook. Thanks to Emma for attempting to convince me otherwise. This week I fine so I'll put it down to being emotional and tired last weekend. Yeah, right! I don't believe me either...

Next week we play away against the Rabbits. Lucky for Storm the game is not being played at our bogie ground - Aussie Stadium. It will be held at Telstra Stadium, a ground at which we have enjoyed some success over the years. I don't want to jinx us - so I'll say no more.

I didn't come JUST ( and I am not shouting:-) ) for the babies, though I must admit I did not follow the game as closely as I would have normaly...Storm had a good win and remembered to play both half's.
