Seriously, isn't it amazing how holiday plans change and evolve? I kid you not with the 'Version 97b' part -- this holiday has most definitely changed on a weekly basis. I reckon within an hour of the idea popping into my head, around 6 months ago, I'd already changed my mind five times.
It started off as a lazy (huh?) 6 week Amtrak Trek around the US of A all by my lonesome. Now, it has turned into:
- Amtrak Trek across the US of A for two weeks (Party of one).
- Meet Emma and Anna for two weeks in New York, Orlando & Miami (Party of three).
- Fly to Las Vegas for a few days with Emma (Party of two - Anna is flying on to Stockholm).
- Drive around New Mexico, Arizona and Nevada for one week (Party of one).
How shiny is that!
Holidays are always so much better with friends. It's going to be so great having them there and also being able to reminisce with them when it's all over.
Plans are coming together nicely and I think we are pretty close to making some definite decisions. But who knows? October is a long way off and it's a big, big World out there.

Planning a holiday is part of the fun.
It has been a lot of fun planning, dates are surely getting there and it won't be that long until we leave considering its already February. There is a lot of stuff to organise as to exactly what we want to do when we get there :)
At least you basically have the same continent, mine originally been Florida & Austria. Please update I'll be off to Stockholm & Rovaniemi (capital of Lapland) and Santa's village, which may only have about 4 hours sunlight when I arrive in November :)
It has been fun planning it so far :) There's still a long way to go yet. I am so not a 'lets just see what happens' type of person. Not real good with the 'Chance it' attitude. I like plans -- plans are good.
Anna --I forgot you were going to see Santa too. For my next update I will make sure I include those details. All information will 100% accurate at time of blogging. BTW, you haven't sent me your itinerary for a while. I know the middle bit but not the ends.
yes, im for having it all planned out too. i didn't mean that we'd organise it when we got there and play it by ear but we just need to sit down and organise our days. plans are great but i guess you need to be flexible too just incase your not able to do what you want, backup plans are good too.
